If you are coming to study in the UK under the Student route you may wish to bring family with you.Some Student visa holders are permitted to bring family members to the UK as dependants. This page gives information that you will need before you apply for Dependant visa, as well as information for family members visiting you for a short period.
Who can bring Dependant : If your programme commences on or after 1 January 2024 .
You can bring dependants to the UK if:
you are undertaking a PhD or other doctoral qualification or a research-based higher degree (such as a master’s by Research MScR)
If you are Taking 2 years Master By research course.
you are studying a full-time programme of at least six months and are receiving a national government issued financial scholarship or sponsorship

Can My Dependants Work as a full time?
Yes
Any dependants who are over 16 years old will be able to work full time in the UK. Dependants who are permitted to work can do any type of work, but:
They must not work as a professional sportsperson, which includes being a sports coach
There are no restrictions on study for Student route dependants.
If you are dependant who intends to study in the UK, you should note that if you are studying on a programme that requires ATAS clearance, you will need to obtain an ATAS certificate before you can commence your programme.
Language Support:
It might be difficult for your spouse to settle into life in the UK if they don’t speak much English.
If you have children, some schools might offer English language support for pupils and their family members who don’t speak English as a first language.
